May passed in a glorious haze of spring sunshine, pomp, and ceremony. The three bank holiday weekends gave homebuyers plenty of opportunities to view properties, and this certainly had an effect on the number of sales agreed!



The lovely weather looks set to continue into June, enticing more buyers out and giving sellers the opportunity to show off their properties in the always flattering sunshine. This is always a busy time of year for the property market, so if you are considering putting your property on the market, you couldn’t choose a better time than now.



Let’s have a brief look at what’s been happening over the last month in the local property market around Larbert, Bonnybridge & Denny.



There are currently 163 properties available on the market in our area. In April, there were 159. In March, 172 were available; in February, there were 168 and in January, there were 157.The market is remaining stable despite the doom and gloom narrative that the national media is currently peddling. 

There has been a steady flow of properties coming onto the market each month. In May, there were 82; in April, there were 81; in March, there were 85; in February, there were 80; and in January, there were 61.

In May, 85 sales were agreed around Larbert, Bonnybridge, & Denny. In April, 74 sales were agreed; in March, there were 90; in February, 83 sales were agreed; and in January, 78 sales were agreed. There has been a consistently high level of activity in the local property market, and we expect this to continue throughout summer.

In January, we saw 16 price reductions across Larbert, Bonnybridge & Denny. In February, there were 5; in March, there were 17; in April, there were 16; and in May, the number dropped to 12. When houses are priced properly, they sell quickly. Setting an unrealistically high asking price at the outset can delay your move by several months.

In May there were 21 slow movers across Larbert, Bonnybridge & Denny. This is a property that has been on the market for 12 weeks or more. In April, there were 28; in March, there were 32; in February, there were 45; and in January, there were 41.
