Here we are in 2024 already. Hope you had a great time bringing in the new year. Let’s take a look back over the property market in Larbert, Bonnybridge & Denny for December 2023 to round out the year.

There are currently 154 property available on the market in our area. In December 2022, there were 135 so this slight increase is good news for buyers, as it means there is more choice. Last month, there were 201 properties available for sale; with 211 in October; in September there were 187; in August, there were 197; and in July, there were 203.


In November 2023, there were 84 new properties that came to the market. This is an increase of 13.5% compared to November 2022. In December 2023, 41 came to the market with 34 in December 2022. This is again good news for buyers. The early months of the year often see more new properties come to the market as well, with new year resolutions heralding job and relationship changes.

In November, 85 sales were agreed in our area; in October, there were 95; in September, there were 77; in August, there were 102; and in July, there were 98. Although the number dipped in December to 56, this isn’t an unusual pattern. What is interesting is that, although the numbers of people buying property with a mortgage have seen a drop, the numbers of cash buyers in 2023 have been even higher than during the pandemic.

In December, we saw 11 price reductions across Larbert, Bonnybridge & Denny. In July, there were 24; in August, there were 19; in September, there were 20; in October and in November, there were 23. This may increase over the next few weeks as sellers refocus their sights on their new chapters.

A slow mover is a property that has been on the market for 12 weeks or more. In December, there were 40 in the area; November had 45; in October, there were 44; in September, there were 37; in August, there were 32; in July, there were 23.
